What membership means

The Communications Museum Trust is a charitable company limited by guarantee. Our members are its legal members under company law — they have a vote at our Annual General Meeting and a say in the Trust's direction and governance.

This is a different thing from simply supporting us financially. If you'd like to help fund what we do without taking on a formal governance role, becoming a Friend or making a donation is a better fit — membership is specifically for people who want to be actively involved in running the Trust.

How to apply

If you don't already have an account with us, start by becoming a Friend. Once you have an account, email enquiries@communicationsmuseum.org.uk to ask about full membership. Applications are subject to approval by our directors, and membership is confirmed on payment of the relevant fee, which is set at the directors' discretion.

Already a member? Nothing changes for you — your existing membership continues as normal. You can log in here to manage your details and vote.

Honorary membership

From time to time, our directors award honorary membership to individuals who've made an exceptional contribution to the Trust. This isn't something you can apply for — it's our way of formally recognising real help when we see it.
