NTKC:Volunteer

The National Telephone Kiosk Collection @ Avoncroft Museum is arguably the UKs most complete telecommunications museum where visitors can get a complete history of the public telephone service with a working telephone network connected to four telephone exchanges and every type of telephone kiosk used from 1912 to the present day.

The NTKC has been a member museum of The Communications Museum Trust since October 2013 and in addition to supporting the existing exhibits we are working with them on exciting developments for the future.

Skills in modern electronics are just as valuable as knowing the ins and outs of old stuff. Here a prototype circuit for an educational display is tested.

Volunteering

Volunteers make the museum come alive! Whatever your skills / knowledge it doesn't matter, enthusiasm and interest are key - you will learn as you go, and there's plenty to do!

Whether you want to answer visitors questions, help with electronic maintenance, painting & building work, producing marketing materials and displays or helping with administration, we'd love to hear from you.

A big part of the visitor experience is having an enthusiastic volunteer to answer questions and explain exhibits.
